As the weather changes and temperatures drop, we often see men embracing their facial hair and letting it grow. Some do it for warmth, but during the month of November, behind the beard growth for many is a cause to raise awareness about men’s health issues called No Shave November. For the month of November, participants forgo shaving as a trigger to spark discussions about cancer awareness and other men’s health issues. Male members of the team at Project Hosts take raising awareness on men’s health issues seriously and to show their concern jumped at the opportunity to dawn a new appearance hoping to evoke conversations on the topic.
Project Hosts is a cloud service provider (CSP) dedicated to security and compliance.. We serve all industries with a niche in healthcare. For men, some food for thought is that there are preventative measures such as eating a healthy diet and exercising that may reduce the risk of prostate and other cancers. Studies indicate that prostate cancer is the most common men’s cancer in America, affecting 1 in 7 men with nearly 3 million American men currently living with prostate cancer. 1
On the other hand, colon cancer is one of the most preventable cancers. Although the risk of getting colon cancer increases with age, having a colonoscopy is the highest performing screening tool, able to detect cancerous tissue during the procedure, allowing it to be removed at the same time.
Stay posted for our updates throughout the month as we will be adding before and after photos of our team and information on men’s health as well as preventative measures healthcare IT departments can take to prevent various vulnerabilities.
